Folx Farm established a dedicated growing space, growing produce for Tower Hamlets Community partners to sell at their weekly markets/ food coops.
They explored how a commercial, small scale, regenerative farm could concentrate a percentage of its growing activity on producing foods that are often imported and staples in the diets of many marginalised communities in the UK, in a way that is sustainable and affordable.
Their overall aim is to create a model that moves away from the commodification of food. This involves working with corporate partners who give them donations to pay a growers wage, rather than subsidising the wholesale market cost of the produce.
